There are many ways of earning extra Clubcard points with Tesco partners. Today I want to look at the Tesco partnership with Blackcircles.
We have already looked at how to earn Clubcard points with cashback site TopCashback, via petrol or mini-mart purchases at Esso garages, when filling out surveys from Shopper Thoughts, as an E.ON customer and when buying health products at NutriCentre.
In this final article I want to look at how you can earn Clubcard points when buying tyres. Yes, tyres.
Blackcircles.com has built a hugely successful business selling tyres online – a category which most of us would have thought was safe from the internet! But the world wide web surprises us every day. The business does so well that Michelin acquired it for £50 million last year.
The genius of the Blackcircles business model is its fitting agreement with 1,500 garages across the UK. This means you can get the tyres delivered to a garage of your choice where they will be fully fitted and your old tyres disposed.
The garage will make less money than it would if it was selling you the tyres directly, but it gains extra customers with no marketing effort and does not have to tie up money in tyre stocks.
Now how does the Clubcard earning bit work?
It depends on the tyres you buy how many points you earn. Currently you can get up to 3 points per £1:
- 3 Clubcard points for every £1 spent at Blackcircles on eligible Michelin and Yokohama tyres
- 2 Clubcard points for every £1 spent at Blackcircles on eligible Quality Choice tyres
- 1 Clubcard point for every £1 spent at Blackcircles on eligible BF Goodrich, Bridgestone, Dunlop, Goodyear, Hankook, Kumho, Nokian and Toyo tyres
Once you’ve chosen the tyres (and garage) you can add your Clubcard number. The amount of points that will be added to your Clubcard account is shown on the screen. If you forget to enter your Clubcard number, you’ve got 14 days to contact Blackcircles in order to receive your points.
Note that Tesco Clubcard points are only earned on ‘fully fitted’ orders. If you intend to fit the tyres yourself – although I’m not entirely sure why you’d want to do that! – then you will not receive any points.
