Here is another Tesco Direct offer which we will drop into the ‘compare or pay more’ category.
Until 6th March you can collect 300 extra Clubcard points with selected BT landline telephones. Included in this offer are the BT 6600 and BT 8600 series. In general these telephones are quite good. However the BT 6600 series is significantly cheaper on Amazon.
The BT 6600 twin costs £69 at Tesco Direct and just £50 on Amazon – that’s a price difference of nearly £20 and definitely not worth the 300 extra Clubcard points.
I could only find a refurbished version of the BT 8600 single on Amazon but the whole series can be found on Argos for about the same price as at Tesco Direct.
The BT 8600 trio costs £99 at Tesco Direct and £99.99 at Argos. Saving £1 doesn’t seem like a lot however plus the 300 extra Clubcard points which could go as far as £9 when exchanged at 3x face value equals a saving of £10.
If you were looking to buy a new landline and want to bag some extra Clubcard points the BT 8600 series would be a good choice. Buying the BT 6600 at Tesco Direct however would be silly. The extra Clubcard points will be added until 6th March.Want to earn more Clubcard or Nectar points? Click here to visit the Shopper Points home page for the latest news and offers.
