A few days ago I looked at how you could save £20 – £100 on selected Dyson vacuum cleaners and receive 1000 extra Clubcard points.
This offer is still on until 8th March. What I didn’t mention at the time is that it also includes some of the (frankly rather funky) Dyson humidifiers and desktop fans.
In theory, you are meant to trade in an old fan in order to receive the cash saving. In reality, as you can see in this dummy order for the Dyson AM08 pedestal fan, and as with the vacuum cleaners, you do NOT need to trade in anything in order to receive 1000 extra Clubcard points.
No need, therefore, to try to force the postman to take away an old fan when he delivers your new one ….. he wouldn’t appreciate it.
In most cases, unfortunately, these deals are still poor value even with the cash saving and the extra points.
For the fan above, the final price is higher than on Amazon where you can get the same fan including postage for about £280. The 1000 extra Clubcard points would not really justify the purchase from Tesco Direct – unless you NEED them for a 4x face value redemption ……
Things look more cheerful with the Dyson AM06 desktop fan. This costs £229 with the £20 price reduction. Amazon has got the fan for £224 but with the 1000 extra Clubcard points it’s worth spending those extra £5 at Tesco Direct.
Again, as often with these deals, it is important to compare prices. Tesco may be big but it isn’t always cheap.
