One of the most common Tesco promotions we cover on Shopper Points is the on-going offer to earn 150 Clubcard points for every £50 you spend on gift cards in a Tesco store (own-brand Tesco cards excluded).
Here is a little trick you might not know about if you are a Next Directory customer.
You can pay off your Next Directory balance using Next gift cards.
This offers you a great opportunity to earn Clubcard points. When you next order from Next, put the charge onto your account – ensuring you pay it off immediately to avoid interest charges. You can then buy enough Next gift cards from Tesco to clear your bill, whilst earning 150 Clubcard points for every £50 of cards you buy.
Pretty much any Tesco store which sells gift cards will stock cards for Next – it is one of the most popular 3-4 cards they have.
You can even overpay your Next bill to use up all of your gift card balance. The unused money will sit on your Next Directory account until you make another purchase.
You can even take this one step further. Once you have been a Directory customer for three months, you can apply for a Next Directory card – details here. This lets you buy items in Next retail stores and have the cost charged to your Next Directory account from where you can pay it off with gift cards. It is less fiddly than using Next gift cards in-store, because you don’t have any pressure to make a purchase simply to use up a gift card you have already bought.
