Is it worth converting your Tesco Clubcard points into St. Paul’s tickets? And how do you do it? Today I want to look at whether tickets for St Paul’s Cathedral are a good use of your Clubcard vouchers.
Not all Clubcard Boost offers are a great deal. This page of Shopper Points helps you decide which is the best Clubcard redemption by listing ALL Clubcard Boost offers based on the multiple of face value you get.
As you can see, offers range from 4 x face value (days out vouchers, restaurant deals) down to 2 x. Even at double the face value, of course, you are getting a better deal than redeeming your vouchers in a Tesco store at face value.
Spending Clubcard vouchers on St. Paul’s Cathedral tickets
You can convert your Clubcard vouchers into St. Paul’s Cathedral tickets on this page of the Tesco website
You will need £7.50 of Clubcard points for a ticket for an adult or £3.50 for a ticket for a child (children under 6 are free). Your ticket will be posted to you within 5 days.
The ticket is valid for six months from the day you redeem.
Is St. Paul’s a good way to spend your Clubcard points?
Let’s say, it’s ok. Nothing more.
A St. Paul’s ticket on the door is £18 for an adult and £8 for a child. If you book online in advance, an adult ticket is £16 and a children ticket is £7.
(Booking in advance commits you to a particular day whatever the weather. A Clubcard ticket is flexible as long as you use it within six months.)
On that basis, you are getting (£18 / £7.50 of Tesco vouchers) 2.4 x face value. This is ok but there are more generous Tesco Clubcard points redemptions.
If you are happy to pay cash and book in advance, it gets even worse – at £16 / £7.50 you are only getting just over 2 x face value. Come on, you can do better than that!
Obviously St. Paul’s Cathedral is a perfectly fine way to spend your Clubcard points if you were planning on going and you’d like to save some money, but you might also want to consider redeeming for one of the other high value Clubcard point redemptions on our list.
