Should you convert Tesco Clubcard points into Oakwood Theme Park tickets?

Is it worth converting your Tesco Clubcard points into Oakwood Theme Park tickets? And how do you do it? Today I want to look at whether Oakwood is a good use of your Clubcard vouchers.

Not all Clubcard Boost offers are a great deal. This page of Shopper Points helps you decide which is the best Clubcard redemption by listing ALL Clubcard Boost offers based on the multiple of face value you get.

As you can see, offers range from 4 x face value (days out vouchers, restaurant deals) down to 2 x. Even at double the face value, of course, you are getting a better deal than redeeming your vouchers in a Tesco store at face value.

Spending Clubcard vouchers on Oakwood theme park tickets

Oakwood Theme Park (formerly Oakwood Leisure Park, Oakwood Coaster Country and Oakwood Park) is in Pembrokeshire, Wales.  It has five large thrill rides: Megafobia (apparently regarded as the UK’s best wooden roller coaster), Vertigo, Bounce, Drenched and Speed.

You can convert your Clubcard vouchers into Oakwood theme park tickets on this page of the Tesco website.

You will need £6.50 of Clubcard points for either a standard ticket (13 years or over) or a junior ticket (3-12 years). Children under 3 are free. Your ticket is emailed to you directly to print at home.

The ticket is valid for six months from the day you redeem.

Oakwood Theme Park Tesco Clubcard vouchers

Is Oakwood theme park a good way to spend your Clubcard points?

Yes, I think so.

A standard ticket on the door is £25. If you book online in advance that comes down to £20.40.

Clubcard tickets and tickets booked in advance do not commit you to a particular day, so your ticket has the same flexibility whether you use cash or Tesco vouchers to get in.

On that basis, you are getting (£20.40 / £6.50 of Tesco vouchers) 3.1 x face value. This is pretty good.

There are no special offers on Oakwood theme park tickets to be found online as far as I can tell. Unlike other theme parks that do frequent ‘2 for 1’ promotions, the only money saving option for Oakwood Theme Park is the 15% saving when buying tickets online in advance.

On this basis, Oakwood Theme Park is a good way to spend your Clubcard points at over 3 x face value.  You might also want to consider redeeming for one of the other high value Clubcard point redemptions on our list.
