Should you convert Tesco Clubcard points into Arcelor Mittal Orbit tickets?

Is it worth converting your Tesco Clubcard points into Arcelor Mittal Orbit tickets? And how do you do it? Today I want to look at whether the Arcelor Mittal Orbit at the Olympic Park in Stratford is a good use of your Clubcard vouchers.

Not all Clubcard Boost offers are a great deal. This page of Shopper Points helps you decide which is the best Clubcard redemption by listing ALL Clubcard Boost offers based on the multiple of face value you get.

As you can see, offers range from 4 x face value (days out vouchers, restaurant deals) down to 2 x. Even at double the face value, of course, you are getting a better deal than redeeming your vouchers in a Tesco store at face value.

Spending Clubcard vouchers on The Arcelor Mittal Orbit tickets

You can convert your Clubcard vouchers into Arcelor Mittal Orbit tickets on this page of the Tesco website.

You will need £5 of Clubcard points for a ticket for an adult and £2.50 for a child (children under 3 are free). Your ticket will be posted to you within 5 days.

The ticket is valid for six months from the day you redeem.

Is The Arcelor Mittal Orbit a good way to spend your Clubcard points?

Not really.

An Arcelor Mittal Orbit ticket on the door is £12. If you book online in advance that comes down to £10. Children tickets are £7 on the door and £5 in advance.

(When booking in advance you need to select a date and time for your visit. A Clubcard ticket is flexible as long as you use it within six months.)

On that basis, you are getting (£12 / £5 of Tesco vouchers) 2.4 x face value. This is not exceptionally great.

These tickets also don’t include the slide – which has only been added to the sculpture recently.

You can purchase general admission including the slide for £15 online (£10 for a child – needs to be at least 8 years old to ride).  I doubt that you can take your children to the Acelor Mittal Orbit without letting them ride the slide…

If you want to enjoy the view and are happy to get only 2.4 x face value for your Tesco Clubcard points, the Arcelor Mittal Orbit is a good way to spend your Clubcard points. However you might also want to consider redeeming for one of the other high value Clubcard point redemptions on our list.
