Is it worth converting your Tesco Clubcard points into London Eye tickets? And how do you do it? Today I want to look at whether the Coca-Cola London Eye is a good use of your Clubcard vouchers.
The official website for the London Eye is here.
Not all Clubcard Boost offers are a great deal. This page of Shopper Points helps you decide which is the best Clubcard redemption by listing ALL Clubcard Boost offers based on the multiple of face value you get.
As you can see, offers range from 4 x face value (days out vouchers, restaurant deals) down to 2 x. Even at double the face value, of course, you are getting a better deal than redeeming your vouchers in a Tesco store at face value.
Spending Clubcard vouchers on London Eye tickets
You can convert your Clubcard vouchers into vouchers for London Eye on this page of the Tesco website.
You cannot redeem Clubcard points to cover the entire cost of a London Eye ticket. The deal is that you use £2.50 of Clubcard points to receive a token which lets you buy a ticket online for the London Eye for just £10.
Your token is emailed to you directly to print at home. The token is valid for six months from the day you redeem.
Is London Eye a good way to spend your Clubcard points?
Yes it is – but as you can only use £2.50 of vouchers per ticket the cash saving isn’t huge.
A London Eye ticket bought on the day is £24.95 for an adult and £18.95 for a child age 4-15. If you book online in advance that comes down to £21.20 (child £16.10).
(Booking in advance commits you to a particular day and time slot. A Clubcard ticket is flexible as long as you use it within six months.)
If you are happy booking in advance (the Eye is covered after all) you are getting (£21.20 – £10 cash payment / £2.50 of Tesco vouchers) 4.5 x face value on an adult ticket. This is an excellent deal – it is just a shame that you can’t use tokens for the full cost of a ticket.
