Is it worth converting your Tesco Clubcard points into London Motor Museum tickets? And how do you do it? Today I want to look at whether the London Motor Museum is a good use of your Clubcard vouchers.
Not all Clubcard Boost offers are a great deal. This page of Shopper Points helps you decide which is the best Clubcard redemption by listing ALL Clubcard Boost offers based on the multiple of face value you get.
As you can see, offers range from 4 x face value (days out vouchers, restaurant deals) down to 2 x. Even at double the face value, of course, you are getting a better deal than redeeming your vouchers in a Tesco store at face value.
Spending Clubcard vouchers on London Motor Museum tickets
The London Motor Museum, located in Hayes near Heathrow Airport, is home to one of the largest collections of both classic and custom automobiles in Europe. You will see over 200 of the finest collectables including a 1937 Auburn Speedster, a 1967 ‘Eleanor’ GT500 and a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr with over £155,000 worth of customisation.
You can convert your Clubcard vouchers into London Motor Museum tickets on this page of the Tesco website.
You will need £2.50 of Clubcard points for a £10 Clubcard tokens to spend on tickets on the door (children under 3 are free). Your tokens will be posted to you within 5 working days.
The tokens are valid for six months from the day you redeem.
Is London Motor Museum a good way to spend your Clubcard points?
On the face of it, yes.
A London Motor Museum ticket on the door is £30 for an adult. If you book online in advance that comes down to £22.50.
(Tickets booked in advance are valid for any date within a year. Clubcard tickets are flexible as long as you use them within six months.)
You can only exchange Clubcard vouchers in multiples of £2.50, so £2.50 gets you £10 of tokens, £5 gets you £20 of tokens etc. Because the tickets are priced at £30 each, you will need £7.50 in Clubcard tokens for an adult ticket.
Compared to the ‘on the door’ price, you do get 4 x face value which is great. Even when compared to the advanced purchase price, you are still getting 3 x face value (£22.50 / £7.50 of Clubcard vouchers).
If you are taking your family, you will get a slightly lower return but it is still a decent deal. This is because you cannot use Clubcard vouchers to pay for family packages. A package for two adults and up to three children is £75 whilst the tickets bought individually – which you need to do if you use Clubcard tokens – would be £100.
