Should you convert Tesco Clubcard points into Sea Life London Aquarium tickets?

Is it worth converting your Tesco Clubcard points into London Sea Life Aquarium tickets? And how do you do it?  Today, in one of our occasional articles on making the best use of your Clubcard points, I want to look at whether this is worthwhile.

Not all Clubcard Boost offers are a great deal. This page of Shopper Points helps you decide which is the best Clubcard redemption by listing ALL Clubcard Boost offers based on the multiple of face value you get.

As you can see, offers range from 4 x face value (days out vouchers, restaurant deals) down to 2 x. Even at double the face value, of course, you are getting a better deal than redeeming your vouchers in a Tesco store at face value.

You will need £6.50 of Clubcard points for a ticket for either an adult or a child (children under 3 are free). Your ticket will be posted to you within 5 working days.

The ticket is valid for six months from the day you redeem.

Is London Sea Life Aquarium a good way to spend your Clubcard points?

On the face of it, yes.

A London Sea Life Aquarium ticket on the door is £24.50 for an adult and £18.10 for a child age 3-15. If you book online in advance via their website here the prices are cheaper but you need to commit to a specific 15-minute time slot on a specific day to get the best price.  A Clubcard ticket, on the other hand, is flexible as long as you use it within six months.

On that basis that you would otherwise be paying on the door because you don’t want to commit to a timeslot in advance, you are getting (£24.40 / £6.50 of Tesco vouchers) 3.75 x face value (2.8 x face value for a ticket for a child). The face value you get with an adult ticket is definitely better than the child ticket, however 2.8 is still not the worst redemption.

However, there are often many special offers available on London Sea Life Aquarium tickets.  National Rail, for example, offers 2 for 1 tickets when travelling to London by train – details of that deal are here.

If you don’t qualify for this 2 for 1 deal, London SeaLife Aquarium is a good way to spend your Clubcard points, but you might also want to consider redeeming for one of the other high value Clubcard point redemptions on our list.
