On this page of Shopper Points we list all of the major Tesco Clubcard redemptions, broken down into whether they are 2x, 3x or 4x face value.
We were giving this page a refresh for the New Year and realised that a few deals had quietly been withdrawn. This is what has gone:
Ticketmaster was added as a Clubcard partner in April 2014, as I wrote here. You only got 2 x face value for your vouchers but – on the upside – this was a ‘genuine’ 2x deal as there was no other way of getting a discount on your purchase.
At just 1.5x face value, this was unlikely to have been a hugely popular deal. Added to the fact that Tesco tends to have 15% – 20% off iTunes gift cards bought for cash instore on a regular basis and I can see why this Clubcard Boost deal was potentially not very popular.
The Daily Telegraph
I was enthusiastic about this offer when it launched in August 2015. £20 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers got you a 1-year digital subscription to The Daily and Sunday Telegraph newspapers. The headline price for this is £150 although, to be fair, there were usually special offers around. If you read those newspapers, though, it was a cracking deal.
Disneyland Paris via Bridge The World
Bridge The World remains a Tesco Clubcard partner but only for specific packages. It seems that you can no longer redeem for their Disneyland Paris brochure. This was a ‘3 x face value’ deal.
The Hotel Collection
The Hotel Collection is a group of 8 four-star hotels scatted across the UK. I don’t know much about them, to be honest. This was a ‘3x face value’ redemption.
Finally, Jimmy’s ‘world buffet restaurants’ have been dropped. I never looked at this as I thought they didn’t have any London sites, but it turns out that their biggest restaurant is actually in the O2 at Greenwich. And now it’s too late to try it!
Safestore IS still a partner – for now. As we wrote in this article, though, Safestore has given notice and will be leaving Clubcard in the Spring. This is a personal disaster for me as I use most of my vouchers to pay our Safestore bill at a genuine 3 x face value!
A few new partners also seems to have been added to the Clubcard redemption list – we will take a look at these soon. It would be beneficial for everyone – the redemption partners and the points collectors – if Tesco was a bit more open about these changes.Want to earn more Clubcard or Nectar points?
