How to earn extra Nectar points with My Coupons at Sainsbury’s

If you haven’t heard of My Coupons before, you should read on. It is an easy way to improve your Nectar points balance simply by buying what you were going to buy anyway.

My Coupons are coupons that are being added to a virtual wallet and increase the amount of points you receive when buying your chosen products. You can use up to 5 coupons in one transaction and the special offers range from 40 to 220 bonus points to double / triple points on your whole shop.

My Coupons

As the coupons are connected to your Nectar card, you do not need to print out anything – unless you are not good at remembering things. The coupons expire after a couple of days, but you can easily add new ones to your wallet at any time via the website.

How does it work?

Go to the My Coupons website and register your Nectar card to see a range of coupons specifically selected for you based on your buying history (sometimes you might also find a new product that could be of interest to you).

Select up to 5 coupons and add them to your ‘wallet’. Next time you shop online or in store pick up the products, scan your Nectar card and receive your bonus points within 10 days. Unfortunately smaller Sainsbury’s Local convenience stores do not participate.

Note that the coupons come with an expiry date which is displayed on the coupon, so make sure to check the date prior to your visit to the supermarket. If you are ordering online, your order must be delivered by the expiry date.

As you can change your five coupons whenever you like, you can easily replace the expired coupons online and then make your way to Sainsbury’s or their online grocery store.

Comments

  1. While there’s no logical reason for it, I find that these coupons don’t redeem if I scan the key fob instead of the card and my husband’s Nectar card often doesn’t work on this too, even though they are all on the same account!

  2. I’ve given up with these. I had a good couple of months last year when they worked fine, then they stopped redeeming properly-conveniently (for Sainsbury’s!) it was the higher value ones that seemed to fail. I did (slightly) change what I bought when the offers were on, and it became so unreliable I decided it really wasn’t worth looking any more.
On the plus side, before I gave up, if an item was ‘yellow sticker reduced’ it did still trigger which was a nice bonus.

  3. Never had a problem with them here. They always seem to have double nectar points and often other things I buy. They combine with printed vouchers so often get 4x nectar points on my entire shop + various other bonuses. I recon its about 5% return on my shop in nectar points on average, so a pretty good deal

  4. Tried this for the first time today so let’s hope it works!
