500 extra Clubcard points with a Samsung combination microwave oven

Towards the end of last year and earlier this year Tesco was running a couple of extra points offers with various Samsung microwaves.

One offer that was pretty good was the Samsung MC28H5013AK combination microwave oven. This microwave was £135.84 in November (cheaper than any of Tesco’s competitors) and came with 500 extra Clubcard points.

Now the 500 extra Clubcard points offer has returned, however not it is not as great as last time.

Until 29th March you will get 500 extra Clubcard points with the Samsung MC28H5013AK Combination Microwave Oven – but the price has gone up to £171.99.

However as none of the other retailers has lowered the price (Currys wants £169, Argos £171), Tesco Direct is still the best buying choice if the 500 extra Clubcard points are being used wisely.

You can order the microwave here and 500 extra Clubcard points will be added until 29th March.

  1. The usual Tesco Tricks when clubcard offers come on, inflate the price to pay for points and make a load of profit.

  2. Be careful of microwaves, they may be recording / taking pictures of you!

  3. Google Chrome OS cannot open the 1st link to the nuke, but it will open the 2nd one fine.

  4. The other trick that manufacturers will play is to make some minor change to a product and give it a slightly different product code. This makes product comparison a bit harder.

A quick check on pricerunner.co.uk shows up a very, very similar microwave:

Samsung MC28H5013AK for £139 – I cant see much difference in the spec and the pictures look identical.

Don’t get me wrong – I am all in favour of checking out points earning bargains, but you do have to be careful!!

  5. Hmm – I guess more coffee is required – I didnt notice it was the same model number.
