Back in April, the First group of train companies (Great Western, Capital Connect etc) became a Nectar partner. I wrote about it here.
Virgin Trains has now joined Nectar as well as you can see on their website.
You will receive 2 Nectar points (so 1% cashback effectively) when you book train tickets at the Virgin Trains website.
As a special introductory offer, you will receive double points (2% back) until 11th October. This is the last date to book – you can travel at any time.
Whilst you can book tickets for all train companies on the Virgin website, you must have at least one Virgin Trains segment in your booking to earn points. You cannot earn points at the moment from the Virgin Trains app, which is a little odd.
As I wrote when First Group joined Nectar, this is another reason not to use any of the independent train bookings site like The Trainline. By using an official train company website, you will usually avoid credit card fees, booking fees and often postage fee too – and you can now earn Nectar points.
