Amex FX Offer

1,000 bonus Nectar points with a Hertz car rental

Hertz, one of the Nectar collection partners (the earning rate is 2 points per £1) has launched a new promotion to encourage you to sign up its Hertz Gold Plus Rewards loyalty scheme.

Full details of the Hertz and Nectar relationship can be found here.

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards has two key benefits in my experience.  You get a 2nd driver for free, which can be a real money saver.  You can also pick up your keys from dedicated desks at major airports which can be a time saver.

Unfortunately, this promotion has some small print which makes it tricky to use:

You must register for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards and make your rental booking by 31st December

You must rent for a minimum of three days

Your rental must be completed by 31st March

You must quote promotion code code 103585 at the time of booking

You are encourage to use Nectar rate code CDP 754927 to book but this does not seem to be compulsory – you may have access to cheaper rate codes via other sources

I reckon that existing members of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards will also qualify for this offer but that is not covered in the rules.

It all seems like a lot of fuss for £5-worth of points but if you need a car rental anyway it is worth a look.  Note that this offer does not seem to be on the Hertz or Nectar sites – it was sent out by email.
