Until 8th March you can collect 1000 extra Clubcard points and save £20 – £100 when buying a Dyson vacuum cleaner at Tesco Direct and trading in your old vacuum cleaner.
At least, this is what it says on the Tesco Direct website.
However after doing a dummy order, I realised that you don’t specifically need to trade in your old vacuum cleaner in order to save money and receive the 1000 extra Clubcard points.
As you can see there is no mention of trading in your vacuum cleaner when adding the Dyson to your basket. The £20 trade-in values comes off and the 1000 Clubcard points are added.
(It would, let’s be honest, be a little impractical for the parcel delivery guy to take away your old cleaner – or for you to drop it off at your nearest Tesco Express if doing ‘click and collect’!)
Included in this offer are 19 vacuum cleaners in total.
The Dyson DC54 Multi-floor Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner costs usually £419 but with a £100 discount you will only pay £319.
The Dyson DC54 Animal Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner is £359, saving £100. (Amazon is selling this vacuum cleaner for the same price).
The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Vacuum Cleaner costs £369 after taking off the £100.
You can find the whole range on the Tesco Direct website. The discount and extra Clubcard points offer is on until 8th March.

The terms and conditions of the offer specifically state “Once you have received your new Dyson product, please return your old vacuum, fan, or heater within 1 month, to your local Tesco Click & Collect desk.”

Anyone had any success with reselling items like this, in situations like this, for break even?
I bought the Cinetic Big Ball Animal one in Dec when it had 5000 pts – it’s a great Hoover – but a real pain to empty.
You very rarely break even on resale, you need to cost out what the points are worth to you and factor that into your resale cost. Your looking at high fees, courier charges on these models.
