Amex FX Offer

Decent Nectar / Homebase deal …. and last day to get Caffe Nero coffee codes for 100 Nectar points

Yes, it is spooky – two half-decent Nectar redemptions in the space of a week!

A good value Homebase deal

If you have over 2,000 Nectar points, you will probably find yourself targetted for this Homebase offer in the app or via the Nectar website if you log in.

Here is the deal:

If you spend at least £10 at Homebase before Sunday 3rd April and redeem at least 2,000 Nectar points (£10-worth) when you pay, you will receive 1,000 Nectar points back.

If you redeem exactly 2,000 points – and you maximise their value if you spend exactly 2,000 – you will be getting 1p per Nectar point.

(You spend 2,000 points but get 1,000 back.  Your net cost is 1,000 points which got you a £10 saving, so 1p per point.)

You can only redeem Nectar points when swiping your card in a Homebase store.  It is not valid for purchases via their website.  If you need any DIY products this weekend then this is a way of getting good value for 1,000 of your Nectar points.

You MUST register for the offer by clicking ‘load to card’ on the relevant part of the app or the Nectar website.  You will receive your 1,000 refunded points within 28 days.

And the Caffe Nero coffee deal ends today!

Today (Wednesday) is the last day that you can use 100 Nectar points to get a code for a free hot drink of ANY size at Caffe Nero.  You have until 31st May to use the code.

You do not swipe your Nectar card in the store.  You must order an e-code via the Nectar website.  You show them the number on your phone or from a print-out and the cashier types it into the till.

If you are running the Nectar app on your phone, you can order a code via the app and it will sit in your app wallet until used.

Caffe Nero

The codes are valid until the end of May so, if you normally visit Nero each weekday, you could probably get through 40 codes by then.

With a large hot coffee costing around £2.50, you could be getting 2.5p per Nectar point – a substantial improvement on the usual half penny!  I do not pass a Nero day to day but I have ordered six codes which I can easily use up over the next two months.

  1. M HOCKENHULL says

Neither myself or OH got the Homebase offer – we have not been to Homebase in over 6 months so you would have thought they might want to temp us back.

We didn’t participate in the recent Homebase swipe and win promotion as it was a once only offer per card with a minimum of 5o nectar points so it wasn’t worth the petrol.
I am wondering if its the people who did the swipe and win also got the new offer?

    • I got it – I bought something once at Homebase last year but that was it.

    • We did the recent swipe and win – bought some lightbulbs and got 1000 points bonus a few days later. Didn’t get this offer though.

  2. Don’t forget the Sainsbury’s Double up is back (even if it’s a bit of a faff to use):

No Homebase offer for me, but 100 free points for clicking on a link in the app, and separately an email from ebay offering 100 free points just for clicking on “accept offer” link.

  3. Just spent 20 mins trawling through my nectar app looking for the offer whilst loitering in the homebase aisles. No such luck, I clearly wasn’t targeted for this offer 🙁 Had to pay full price.
