Does the Merlin Annual Pass sale make Clubcard redemptions look a bad deal?

It’s January which means the January sales are on.

If you want to spend a few weekends this summer visiting Merlin attractions and theme parks across the UK, you should take a look at their annual passes sale – especially if you were planning to exchange Clubcard points for tickets.

We’ve run a series of Clubcard redemption reviews over the last year including most Merlin attractions.

We found that as long as no 2 for 1 offers are available, Clubcard redemptions for Merlin attractions are a good option. You can read more in this review of the London Sea Life Centre and Madame Tussaud’s or scroll through our Clubcard redemption reviews page.

Merlin Annual Pass

If you want to visit more than two Merlin attractions throughout the year, it’s worth getting an annual pass to save money and be flexible about when to go.  You can get a Merlin Annual Pass for Clubcard vouchers if you want, but does the current sale price make it less attractive?

With the Merlin Annual Pass you can visit Madame Tussaud’s, Chessington, LEGOLAND, Thorpe Park etc as many times as you want.

You can get the Standard Merlin Annual Pass in exchange for £50 worth of Clubcard points.

Looking at the regular price for the pass (£179) you get 3.58 x face value for your Clubcard points which is a great value.

During the current sale, however, you pay only £129 for a Standard Merlin Annual Pass.  This makes a Clubcard redemption less attractive as you would be getting a face value multiple of only 2.58 x.

The sale prices for all passes are:

Standard Pass

£129 for an individual adult or child pass (RRP £179)

£109 per person for a family pass (RRP £139)

Premium Pass

£159 for an individual adult or child pass (RRP £219)

£129 per person for a family pass (RRP £179)

You can order all passes on the Merlin annual passes website.  If you want to redeem Clubcard points instead, the page on the Tesco website is here.
