100 Nectar points for re-linking your card to your Virgin East Coast trains account

You can pick up 100 free Nectar points with Virgin East Coast trains.

Virgin East Coast has launched a new website and it looks like they could not carry all the data across.

Good for us, as they are now offering 100 free Nectar points for re-linking your Nectar and Virgin East Coast trains accounts.

How do I get the points?

Even if you’ve previously had a Virgin East Coast account, you need to create a new account on their website.

Once your account has been created you need to add your Nectar card number under your profile.

It looks like you must use the same email address as before in order to get the 100 Nectar points when linking your Nectar account.

Virgin East Coast has been a Nectar partner since 2014 letting you earn 2 points per £1 spend.  This is the equivalent of 1% cashback, which isn’t great but is better than nothing.  Virgin East Coast also has no credit card fees or booking fees if you book directly with them.

You can read more about the Nectar and Virgin East Coast relationship here.  This offer is not showing on their website but has been emailed out to customers who allow East Coast to send them marketing emails over the last week.

Comments

  1. I did get an email from VTEC about the need to re-register, but no Nectar offer mentioned so looks like this may be a targeted offer.

  2. Virgin website is down “We’ll be back soon. We’re upgrading our website and will be back soon, thank you for your patience.”

  3. I always get Virgin miles rather than Nectar points. Probably explains why my Nectar offers never pay out.
Get Nectar points from Transpennine Express.

None are of major use to me, but in a few years, they could be!
