Should you convert Tesco Clubcard points into Chessington World of Adventures tickets?

Is it worth converting your Tesco Clubcard points into Chessington World of Adventures tickets? And how do you do it?  Today I want to look at whether tickets for Chessington World of Adventures is a good use of your Clubcard vouchers.

Not all Clubcard Boost offers are a great deal. This page of Shopper Points helps you decide which is the best Clubcard redemption by listing ALL Clubcard Boost offers based on the multiple of face value you get.

As you can see, offers range from 4 x face value (days out vouchers, restaurant deals) down to 2 x. Even at double the face value, of course, you are getting a better deal than redeeming your vouchers in a Tesco store at face value.

Spending Clubcard vouchers on Chessington tickets

The official Chessington website is here.

You can convert your Clubcard vouchers into Chessington tickets on this page of the Tesco website.

You will need £12.50 of Clubcard points for a ticket for either an adult or a child (children under 3 are free). Your ticket is emailed to you directly and has to be printed.

If you don’t have enough Tesco Clubcard points, there is a second way to spend Clubcard points at Chessington: Voucher + Cash.

You only need £2.50 of Clubcard points to receive a code for a cheaper day ticket. The code will bring the price for a day ticket down to £21.99. You need to book your tickets online and enter the promotional code to get money off your day ticket. This is still cheaper than the 5+ days ahead ticket you can buy on Chessington’s website for £28.

The ticket is valid for six months from the day you redeem.

Is Chessington World of Adventures a good way to spend your Clubcard points?

When getting a full day ticket, yes.

A Chessington ticket on the door is now a shocking £49! If you book online via the official website here 1-4 days in advance that comes down to £34 and if you book more than 5 days in advance the ticket is £28.

Booking in advance commits you to a particular day whatever the weather. A Clubcard ticket is flexible as long as you use it within six months.  This is a valuable benefit.

Assuming that you don’t want to pay in advance and risk the weather, you are getting (£49 / £12.50 of Tesco vouchers) 3.9 x face value. This is pretty good.

However, there are often many special offers available on Chessington tickets.

Some brands of Kellogg’s cereal, for example, currently have a ‘buy a child ticket and get a free adult ticket’ coupon printed on them. Chessington is included. This would halve your entry cost for paying cash if 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 1 child go.

Your Clubcard vouchers are still a better deal as you’d pay £25 in Clubcard vouchers for two tickets instead of £49 cash (£45 if your child is between 3-11).  You are only receiving 2 x the face value of your vouchers in this scenario, however.

If you can find a Kellogg’s voucher, you may want to consider redeeming for one of the other high value Clubcard point redemptions on our list instead.  Without a 2-4-1, using Tesco Clubcard vouchers is a good deal.
