I don’t think that maths is correct…? The slow cooker is still costing me £18 – not £3. (But I do get 500 points / equivalent of £15 goldsmiths).

You still have to pay £18 when you buy the slow cooker. However, once you receive your £5 Clubcard points voucher you can redeem it for example at Goldsmith for a £15 voucher.
I use my vouchers for Uber credit. As I use Uber anyway I do see 500 Clubcard points as a £15 saving.
