Happy Bank Holiday Weekend – Earn 10 x Nectar points on pretty much everything.

Happy Friday and Hello long weekend! Hope you all got nice plans for this Bank Holiday Weekend.

If not, you could go and earn some bonus Nectar points.

From tomorrow Saturday 26th May until Monday 28th May everyone will get 10 x Nectar points on pretty much everything on their Sainsbury’s shop. This even includes petrol – making filling up your tank a little less dreadful.

For every full £1 that you spend at Sainsbury’s in-store, on online deliveries and on fuel you will get 10 Nectar points instead of just 1.

That is worth at least 5% of your spending back. (If you follow our tips on Shopper Points and save your Nectar points for special redemption deals, it could mean 10% or more back.)

You will automatically earn 10 x Nectar points with every Sainsbury’s purchase and the bonus points should reach your account within 48 hours.

Here is the small print:

  • spirits and liqueurs, first stage baby milk products, National Lottery, tobacco, gift vouchers, gift cards, prescription medicines, over the counter medicines, postage stamps, savings stamps, mobile phone vouchers, phone cards, e top-up, pay point payments, charity products and car park tickets are not included in this offer
  • The offer is not valid on fuel purchased from BP or ESSO
  • The offer is not valid on TU Clothing
  • The promotion is not valid on the Isle of Wight or if you are part of the Nectar trial

Mark Given, Director of Marketing at Sainsbury’s, said about the promotion: “Our ambition is to help all of our customers live well for less. We know many shoppers will be stocking up for summer so we’re delighted to be able to offer customers the chance to boost their Nectar point balances over the Bank Holiday weekend.”

The full T&Cs are on this website. Happy shopping!

Comments

  1. No 10x bonus points on TU clothing as you report, BUT they have a 25% off ticket price promotion at the moment.

    • Despite the T&Cs I got points on Tu clothing (and the 25% off) when included in a shop with groceries this morning. Obviously others may find otherwise.

  2. What happen if you buy a £1 loaf of bread and a load of clothing?
Does the till know to not award bonus points on the clothes?

    • The systems do not award points at all on the wholly excluded categories such as stamps, so it seems likely that clothing can be excluded from the bonus points.

  3. I was wondering why I had bonus points on my receipt. Mystery solved

However I was surprised to see no nectar points on spirits at all. Is this normal?
