TODAY is Amazon Prime Day – amazing savings which end at midnight!

Amazon Prime Day is here! What started as a one off event to celebrate Amazon’s 20th birthday three years ago, has become an annual sales event.  This year Amazon decided to start half a day early and the first offers launched at midday on Monday.

Unlike previous years, Amazon has not made a full list of discounts available in advance to the media so we haven’t had anything to work from.

The biggest discounts are on the core Amazon own-brand electronics products, not surprisingly:

Amazon Echo Dot reduced from £49.99 to £29.99

Amazon Echo reduced from £89.99 to £59.99

Amazon Fire TV Stick reduced from £39.99 to £24.99

Amazon Echo Show reduced from £199.99 to £99.99

Amazon Fire HD10 tablet reduced from £149.99 to £99.99

There is, however, a way to get a discount on ANYTHING!

You receive a £10 bonus when you buy an £80 Amazon Gift Certificate (click here).  You can buy one for yourself and redeem it into your own Amazon account immediately, so this is basically £10 of free Amazon credit to use whenever you want.

(EDIT: The ‘£10 of free gift card credit’ offer has now expired as it reached its cap of 12,500 orders)

Remember that you need to be an Amazon Prime member to take part, but Amazon is happy for you to sign up for a free 30 day trial if you want any of these deals.

(If you do take the 30 day free trial, you can actually cancel it immediately in your Amazon account.  This means you won’t forget to cancel later.  You continue to receive Prime benefits for the full 30 days.)

Full details of the discounts available are on the Prime page of the Amazon site here This will show you some of the best deals available.

Remember that you need to buy today, Tuesday.

PS.  I am on holiday this week, so Shopper Points is taking a short break and will return on Monday – or possible Wednesday, depending on whether my flight home is one time!
