Nectar Swipe and Win this weekend – guaranteed bonus points!

Swipe and Win is back. Sainsbury’s ‘you can’t lose’ prize draw will run all weekend.

So make sure you’ve got your Nectar card in your wallet when you go shopping (I must confess that mine isn’t always in my wallet and I’ve had to order new cards twice already…).

swipe and win

Until 23:59 on 28th October (Sunday) you will receive a Swipe and Win coupon with every transaction over £10 in store or online – delivery date must be between 26th and 28th October.

This also works on petrol purchases!

You are GUARANTEED to win between 200 and 5,000 Nectar points when swiping your Nectar card.

You will win either 5,000, 2,000, 1,000, 500 or 200 Nectar points. Even if you get the smallest prize – which is likely! – you are getting £1 back on a £10 spend.

Of course there is some small print attached to this promotion:

  • Sainsbury’s Central and Local are excluded
  • Selected petrol stations are also excluded (check the website to find out which ones)
  • Qualifying spend excludes spirits and liqueurs, first stage baby milk products, National Lottery, Tobacco, gift vouchers, gift cards, prescription medicines, over the counter medicines, postage stamps, savings stamps, mobile phone vouchers, phone cards, e top-up, pay point payments, charity products and car park tickets
  • TU clothing online is excluded
  • The Swipe and Win voucher cannot be redeemed online

However there is no limit on the number of entries. If you’ve got a lot of time you could do your big shop in smaller chunks (each over £10) and receive a Swipe and Win coupon with every transaction.

If you are filling up your car, buying petrol in £10 chunks means a 10% discount on your fuel!

The coupon has to be handed to a cashier or placed in a self-scan collection slot by 11th November to redeem your points – although it makes sense to redeem it on the spot if you’re not in a hurry.

Please post a comment here if you win a prize over 200 points!

(The rules in Northern Ireland are a bit different: No purchase necessary route available in Northern Ireland only. To enter please email [email protected] by 23:59 on 28th October 2018 with your contact details and Nectar card number, and a coupon will be allocated to you and Nectar points added to your account within 28 days of the promotion ending. Notification of points prize will be via email. Only one no purchase necessary route per Northern Ireland customer)

  1. Hi there, I bought 4 x £10 of petrol yesterday and managed a 200, a 500, a 1000 and a 5000 – not bad for £40 of fuel.

  2. Duncan Stevenson-Price says:

I struggle to work out why local stores are excluded from this. They already have massively inflated prices, so why exclude them from the offer. ‍♂️

  3. I got 5000 yesterday 🙂

  4. Stephen C says:

Did two transactions at a self-checkout yesterday and got nothing. Checked the voucher printer and it was working but wasn’t up for 20 minutes at customer service. Have sent them a complaint

  5. Received 2000 voucher with my 25% off 6 bottles wine purchase and on going back later got another 500! Will try again today on store cupboard times.

  6. I caused some delays in my local Sainsbury’s self service area breaking about 60 quids worth of shopping into 5 lots of just over 10 quid! I was rewarded with 4 X 500 points plus 1 X 5000. I guess the machine though id be there all day if it didn’t spit out the jackpot ! 🙂

  7. First purchase yielded 2000 points then the next three were all 500 points each , no complaints here .

  8. 500 for my food shopping then 500 for my fuel

  9. 2x 200 points on Friday, not had a chance to visit since and no petrol station nearby. Off to another Sainsbury’s tomorrow and hope to have 4 or 5 cracks at winning.

  10. I bought petrol and got a 5000 nectar points coupon – I then went in to the store to do some shopping and got a second 5000 points coupon! That’s £50 worth of nectar points! I never win anything usually! So I bought a euromillions ticket, but didn’t win sadly haha.

  11. £50 done today at Sainsbury’s – 500, 1000,5000, 500 and 500 so very happy with that return. Huge queues and according the lady on checkout I was far from the worst offender!

  12. I’ve got 1 x 5000, 1 x 1000, 3 x 500 and a machine out of coupon roll! Does anyone know whether these coupons can be added to a partners nectar card instead of my own? I’ve already reached the £100 limit for double up next month whereas he hasn’t. Thanks

    • In the past you could add them to any nectar card, last year someone left the till without taking their voucher so I took it for them ! No guarantee it hasn’t changed but worth a try.

  13. I received a coupon for 2000 points with my online delivery on Friday the 26th October. I did not know what it meant until I looked online to see what this was all about. Didn’t get a chance to look before today (Monday 29/10) I’m happy to have these extra points added to my existing points, it’s a nice bonus. But, I do have to go in my store locally before they are added. As a customer that lives in the country with a busy life style, (hence why I have home deliveries) it would be easier and nicer if Sainsburys could just add them to my points next time I have a delivery. Never mind, I will pop in to reap the rewards of 2000 nectar points! Thanks Sainsburys!
