Esso and Tesco have been working together for a number of years.
We explained the slightly complicated way of earning Clubcard points with Esso in this article.
Now you can pick up up to 400 free Clubcard points with the new Esso App.
Unfortunately, this only works at a handful of garages so far – here is the list. It will be rolled out rapidly to more garages soon so you will have more chance of finding one near you.
The Esso App let’s you pay for your fuel without having to queue at the counter.
You should download and set up the app at home.
Next time you want to fill up your car at Esso open the app, select your location and pump, pay using Apple Pay or PayPal and then fill up the car as usual.
Once done you will get an email receipt and the cashier will be notified that you’ve paid.
Earn 400 bonus Clubcard points
You can add your Clubcard number to your profile and your points will be credited automatically – no need to show your card when filling up.
After filling up with 30 litres for the first time when using the app, you will be credited 200 bonus points.
You will also earn a further 200 bonus points after you’ve filled up with 30 litres 5 times.

i have already done this, and assume it is only for the very first 5 times using the app, not every 5 times?
Yes only the first 5 times unfortunately.
All very well but my car won’t take 30 litres as I found out with the shell offer trying to get to exactly 30 quid !!!
