Tesco launches new round of ‘Clubcard prices’ today – 400 products reduced for Clubcard holders

Tesco has brought back its ‘Clubcard prices’ as part of its Centenary deals event.  These are exclusive in-store deals for Tesco Clubcard cardholders.

Deals launch today, Monday 9th September, and run until 2nd October.  This time, the number of products included has been doubled to 400.

Here is the official press release which contains some sample offers.  To be honest, we have never been completely sold on the idea of having non-points deals offered exclusively to Clubcard customers, but Tesco seems keen to continue the trial.

Note that Express and Metro stores are not taking part in this offer.

TESCO ANNOUNCES HUNDREDS OF PRICE CUTS AND THE RETURN OF CLUBCARD PRICES TO CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF GREAT VALUE

– PRICES CUT ACROSS MORE THAN A HUNDRED PRODUCTS IN THIRD WAVE OF TESCO 100TH ANNIVERSARY DEALS

– OVER 400 ADDITIONAL PRICE CUTS AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY FOR TESCO CLUBCARD MEMBERS

Tesco has announced that it is celebrating 100 Years of Great Value by cutting the price of over one hundred products during September. Launching today and running until October 2nd, this will be the third 100th anniversary deals event from Tesco this year, after bursts in January and May.

Throughout September, customers in Tesco stores and online will be able to shop up to half price offers on Tesco own-brand products and some of the nation’s favourite brands, including Filippo Berio, Chicago Town, McVitie’s and McCain.

Tesco has also brought back and extended Clubcard Prices, which will give its 19 million Clubcard members access to more than 400 additional money-saving deals during September. Offers include exclusive discounts on a wide range of products – from TVs and cleaning products, to coffee. To get the Clubcard Prices, existing Clubcard members just need to tap their card or scan the Clubcard app at the till. Customers who don’t have a Clubcard can get the discounts by downloading the app and registering which takes just a few minutes. Online customers will get their discounts automatically and they will show on their final customer delivery note.

Throughout the year, Tesco has announced the launch of its 100 Years of Great Value deal events with adverts featuring iconic characters and celebrities from days gone by, including Mr Blobby, Anneka Rice and Morph. This burst of deals is no different, with legendary football pundit Des Lynam returned to screens alongside deals with ‘prices that take you back.’

Some of the great prices that take you back this September include:

  • Half price: Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1 litre (now just £4, was £8)
  • Half price: Tesco Stone Baked Margherita Pizza (now just £1.50, was £3)
  • Half price: McVitie’s Family Circle Biscuits (now just £2, was £3)
  • Half price: McCain Extra Chunky Home Chips, 1kg (now just £1.45, was £2.90)

Clubcard Prices deals include:

  • Half price: Selected lines of Nescafé Azera (various prices)
  • 10% off: All Technika TVs (various prices)
  • 30% off: Selected four packs of Fox & Ivy glassware (now just £8.40, was £12)

Tesco Chief Customer Officer, Alessandra Bellini, said:

“This latest burst of deals will enable shoppers to snap up family favourites at amazing prices – we know this will be especially important as children go back to school and purse strings are tightened after the summer break. And as we continue to celebrate 100 years of great value, we wanted to say thank you once again to our millions of loyal Clubcard customers with special lower prices just for them.”

To celebrate the launch of the latest event, Tesco has also helped bring back iconic series Supermarket Sweep. The much-loved gameshow returns tonight at 8pm (Monday 9 September), as a prime-time week-nightly show on ITV2, with new host Rylan Clark-Neal.

With great value offers across hundreds of products in September, customers can fill their shopping trollies and baskets for a lot less and stock up for the autumn months. “

  1. Hardly “great” prices. And the original prices were way over the top anyway. £8 for a litre of olive oil – yeah right!
